I am an adult who has long wanted to learn piano but whose profession can make it difficult to keep a regular schedule. About a year ago, I decided that I was simply going to make time for lessons, provided that I could find a music teacher who would be receptive to re-scheduling lessons on short notice and who could also teach jazz piano. Rick has been terrific about accommodationg my re-scheduling needs; and, beginning with my very first lesson, he set me to work learning jazz-oriented chords and exercises, along with traditional beginner exercises, theory and songs. So far--it's really been great. Learning piano is not easy and making time to practice is a must; but improvement has been steady and it's very rewarding to hear and feel the progress from lesson-to-lesson. Rick's patience, accommodating style and obvious love for music make it easy to recommend him for adult students - working or non'-working.
